Zach Donnell PhD is a Senior Consultant at groupH working out of our San Francisco office. Zach began his scientific career as a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at Princeton University, where he earned a PhD in molecular biology studying genetics and cell-to-cell communication in the bacterial pathogen Vibrio cholerae.

Zach later established his business acumen at the boutique healthcare consultancy Health Advances, where he assessed market opportunities in biotech/biopharma, medical devices, clinical diagnostics, and life sciences research tools. There, he developed deep experience in primary and secondary research, commercial forecasting, indication-asset screening, and disease area strategy. He has provided strategic guidance to clinical- and commercial-stage companies across a wide variety of therapeutic areas including hematology, oncology, autoimmune, metabolic, and orphan diseases.

In his spare time Zach enjoys hiking, large format film photography, and oil painting, and he has recently ventured into sous vide cooking.
