2025: groupH remains carbon neutral

For many of us, the world of work changed due to COVID-19, with carbon-saving remote working becoming the norm wherever possible.

Since its inception in 2005, groupH has consistently embraced a virtual working model helping to keep emissions to a minimum.

In 2025, we continue to offset our already small annual carbon output. This year, we are supporting the Environmentalism – Wigton Energy Limited project. This wind energy initiative offers a viable alternative to the combustion of traditional fossil fuels, which contribute to greenhouse gas pollution. The clean energy generated by Wigton reduces Jamaica’s oil consumption by more than 100,000 barrels annually.

Wigton was the first entity in Jamaica to successfully register Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As a result, the company has successfully traded carbon credits under an Emissions Reduction Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the Dutch Government.
